Online Working Talks with RMIT University

On the morning of 3 July, Bian Zhengfu, the Vice-Chancellor, held an online working talks with Saskia Loer Hansen, Deputy Vice-Chancellor International and Engagement of RMIT University. Relevant persons in charge of International and Engagement RMIT, and the International Office of our university, attended the talks.

In his speech, Bian Zhengfu congratulated Saskia Loer Hansen on her new position as International and Engagement and Vice-President of RMIT. He emphasized that as mutually important international partners, RMIT and CUMT have a long history of cooperation and have always maintained a close relationship.
Since the establishment of the “Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education Program in Architectural Environment and Energy Engineering” approved by the Ministry of Education in 2012, the cooperation and exchange between the two schools have been greatly promoted, during which a large number of high-quality, interdisciplinary talents have been cultivated. He said that CUMT will work with RMIT to do a good job in the enrolment and training of the new round of Chinese-foreign cooperative education program agreement between the two universities, and also expressed his expectation for the two sides in terms of faculty exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and the joint organization of international conferences to continue to deepen the partnership in imparting knowledge.

Saskia Loer Hansen said she was honored to have the opportunity to hold an online meeting with Vice-President Bian Zhengfu on strengthening cooperation between the two universities. She said that in line with RMIT's new strategy in terms of cooperation with universities in the Asia-Pacific region, the university will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with key partner universities in China, especially with CUMT. Over the past ten years of cooperation, the two universities have developed friendly and fruitful cooperation in terms of teacher exchanges and joint training of students. The signing of a new round of agreements on Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs has made the cooperation between the two universities even closer. She agreed with Vice-President Bian Zhengfu’s proposal for cooperation, and expressed her willingness to work with CUMT to further expand the field of practical cooperation between the two sides.

At the meeting, the two sides also had in-depth communication on several matters, including an exchange of high-level visits this year, participation in the activities of the university's overseas education exhibition, and further cooperation of Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs.
