The opening ceremony and exhibition match of the 18th freshmen debate competition of China University of Mining and Technology was held in Jinghu Lecture Hall on 13 October.

Participants demonstrated great oratory and thinking skills. Debates were characterized by power of persuasion, knowledge and rationality. CUMT has a rich reservoir of budding intellectuals.
