Recently, “JELLY: Street Fashion” creative color derivatives exhibition has come to an end, with its exhibition period from early May to late June. It was organized by Dave Bramston, external professor from School of Architecture & Design, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), Ye Li, associate professor from CUMT, and An Jiajing, associate professor from Art College of Guizhou University and National Centre for Craft & Design, hosted by National Center for Craft & Design.

National Centre for Craft & Design is the biggest place dedicated forto the exhibition, celebration and promotion of domestic as well as international handicraft and design. The works appearing atin the China-UK joint exhibition are coursework of undergraduates from the School of Architecture & Design, CUMT, mainly displayed in the form of design tools, process derivatives and clothing, with rich colors, chic patterns and unique techniques. They make use of recyclable waste materials, such as wood, paper and textiles. In light  of the knowledge and understanding of color systems and contemporary art masterpieces learned in class, they adopt experimental creation by prints and wood carving, focusing on the perception and innovative use of color. After painstaking exploration and practice of materials and techniques, they have successfully created original works that both embody artistic charm and meet modern aesthetic needs. These works not only interpret the fusion of traditional technology and modern art, but also contain the fashion avant-garde elements that integrate the contemporary art with international fashion trends. With artistry, modernity, ornamental and practical qualities, the works fully show the college students’ creativity for contemporary art and craft. They also promote art exchanges and thinking collision of students from different cultural backgrounds. During the exhibition, related activities, such as interactive workshop and creative fair were also held. The exhibition has attracted a large number of visitors, and has achieved recognition and resonance from British artists and audiences. 

Also, the exhibition displays the achievement of the curriculum reform of the School of Architecture & Design. Works on display come from the "color creativity" course, which is a course construction project of the undergraduate teaching reform. Besides, the success of this exhibition gives an affirmation to the exploration and innovation of the School of Architecture & Design in undergraduate teaching reform and cultivation mode of innovative talent in recent years. In addition, the exhibition is also a phased teaching result of sino-foreign joint teaching over the years in the School of Architecture & Design. In this course, both Chinese and foreign teachers pay great attention to training students' innovative capability by creative thinking. They also  guide students to learn originally from an international perspective.  In less than 3 years, theyHaving have their works exhibited in an international exhibition in no more than 3 years is an important step toward the international design stage for all the members in the School of Architecture & Design.
