Greetings to both our domestic and international alumni of CUMT.

We proudly announce that China University of Mining and Technology will celebrate a milestone 110th anniversary on 1 June 2019.  The commemoration of this momentous event begins with an expression of sincere gratitude to a multitude of global leaders and friends from all sectors of society who have  contributed to 110 years of quality education, innovation, growth and development of CUMT. 

We remember: 1909 - the founding of Jiaozuolu Mining School which set new precedents in higher education of mining in China; 1952 - the integration of top mining schools nationwide made CUMT China’s  first specialist mining university; 1978 -  the relocation of campus to Xuzhou.

We are also proud of how CUMT has stood as a beacon in:

· Steadfastly supporting our people and our country notwithstanding the many years of challenges and victories.

· Forging ahead with China’s industrialization, contributing tremendously to national energy exploration and economic construction.

· Improving the quality of academic majors to forge a unique and universal CUMT ideal—diligence, determination, practice and persistence thus making CUMT a key educational base for energy, resource and science.

· Inspiring over 300 000 graduates to remain true to their mission, persist in hard work and strive to reach their full potential. 

From a humble start in 1909, CUMT has evolved through generations of  social, political, cultural and economic transition and emerges, yet again, as a beacon of hope in this new era of reform,  transformation, innovation and opening-up.

CUMT remains steadfast in pursing  openness, truth, knowledge and excellence and on this 110 years anniversary commits to serve the national energy strategy thus  benefitting  society with first-class scientific achievements and cutting-edge technologies; boost regional economic and social development and promote industrial upgrades; The development of an energy and resource-oriented world-class university in Huaihai Economic Zone.

CUMT has persevered in living up to the expectations of promoting mining technologies, tapping into diverse civilizations, rejuvenating our nation and serving humanity and pursuing  academic excellence.

The theme of the 110 years anniversary celebration  “Humanity, Academy, Fraternity”,embodies the principles of being free, being open, being practical and being succinct.

CUMT cordially invites friends from home and abroad to Xuzhou to join in the celebrations of the historic 110 years anniversary.

You are further invited to attend the concurrentmajor symposiums on Energy and Resource Innovations during the 110th anniversary celebrations.
