The International Seminar on Remote Sensing Monitoring of Air Pollution and Carbon Emissions, co-hosted by the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics and International Office, was held on September 21, 2023 at Conference Room A512 of the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics building. The Seminar was presided over by Prof. Zhang Kefei and Prof. Jason Cohen. Chen Liang, Deputy Director of International Office, Lucia Mona, Head of Italian National Research Council (CIAO) Observatory, Wang Shougang, Party Secretary of the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics, and Li Changgui, Party Secretary of the School of Public Policy & Management delivered speeches at the seminar.

Foreign scholars, including Prof. Gerrit de Leeuw from the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute, Senior Researcher Simone Lolli from the Institute of Environmental Analysis Methods of the Italian National Research Council, Researcher Tony Christian Landi from the Institute of Atmospheric Science and Climate Research of the Italian National Research Council, Assistant Professor Juseon Bak from Pusan National University, South Korea, and Associate Professor Md Firoz Khan from North South University in Bangladesh, gave reports on topics including application of aerosol satellite remote sensing, atmospheric composition lidar detection, ozone remote sensing inversion, atmospheric composition modeling, and air pollution in South Asia. More than 60 teachers and students from the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics and the School of Public Policy & Management attended the seminar and had heated discussions with foreign experts.
