The 19th Annual Award Ceremony for the Ho Ying Tung Education Foundation's Youth Science Awards and Higher Education Teaching Awards was held in Nanjing o n the afternoon of December 26. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Wu Yan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education; Mr. Tan Tieniu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University; Mr. Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University; Mr. Ho Zhenhuan, Chairman of the Ho Ying Tung Education Foundation; and Mr. Ho Zhenting, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Ying Tung Education Foundation. They presented awards to representatives of the distinguished teachers who received honors.

The award ceremony was presided over by Ms. Yang Dan, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of Ministry of Education. 165 awardees and representatives from 124 universities across China attended the ceremony. Professor Zhang Shaoliang from the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics and Professor Wang Hetang from the School of Safety Engineering were honored with the Second Prize of the 19th Higher Education Teaching Award and the Second Prize of the Youth Science Award, respectively, by the Ho Ying Tung Education Foundation.

Since its establishment in 1986, the Ho Ying Tung Education Foundation has been awarding the Youth Science Awards and Higher Education Teaching Awards to university teachers who have made outstanding achievements in scientific research and teaching, with the mission to "support new talent and encourage excellence." The International Office of CUMT, in collaboration with the Academy of Science and Technology and the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs as well as other related schools and departments, has organized nominations and applications for these awards. As of this year, a total of 27 individuals from our university have been awarded by the Ho Ying Tung Education Foundation.
