On March 15th, the website of American Institute of Physics (AIP), gave a special report with the title of The Thermally Driven Spin Current in DNA on the research progress of Bai Long et al., the School of Physics, Faculty of Energy, Materials and Physics, China University of Mining and Technology. A week before, one of the respected journals of AIP, Journal of Applied Physics published the latest research results of Bai Long et al. in the form of Featured Article-- "Study on the Spin Seebeck Effect of Chiral DNA Molecules"

In this research, Bai Long et al. innovatively studied the pyro-electric effect of chiral DNA molecules and found that the spin (charge) current of such molecular devices presenting rectification effect is due to the spin-selective effect of chiral DNA molecules. Based on these features, spin (charge) diodes, spin (charge) switches, and spin (charge) transistors were invented. The results of this study are of great value for the development of spin electronic devices for chiral organic molecules.

It is reported that AIP journal’ editors usually select the most valuable papers from many published articles and published in the form of featured papers, so as to quickly disseminate new research results and enhance such papers’ influence. At the same time, the journal of AIP will have  selected ones released in the form of features.
