The 10th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Automation Science (ICMEAS 2024), hosted by China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) and co-hosted by Hong Kong Society for Mechanical Engineers (HKSME), Southeast University, State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing of Advanced Construction Machinery and State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Mining Equipment Technology, was held from October 18 to 20 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. Under the theme “Frontier Development of Mechanical Engineering and Automation Science”, the conference attracted more than 200 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from around the world to discuss the latest issues in the field.
On the morning of October 19, Vice President Prof. Wang Zhongbin attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of CUMT, he warmly welcomed experts and scholars, and gave a brief introduction of the history, disciplines and curriculum of China University of Mining and Technology. He said that the conference serves as an important platform to promote cooperation and communication in the field of mechanical engineering and automation, and to promote technological progress and innovation in this field. CUMT will seize this opportunity to further improve discipline development and strive to make theoretical breakthroughs, pursue technological innovations and make practical progress in the field of mechanical engineering and automation. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Zhou Gongbo, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, CUMT.
Renowned domestic and international experts were invited to deliver keynote speeches and share their latest academic achievements in their respective research fields. Prof. Tan Jianrong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor of Zhejiang University made a presentation entitled “Generative Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation: Key Technologies and Trends”. Mr. Wang Guofa, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and researcher of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group made a presentation entitled “Development of Digital Intelligence Technology and Equipment for Intelligent Mines”. Prof. Zhang Dan, Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering andProfessor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University made a presentation entitled “Innovative Design and Application of Robot Manipulators in Intelligent Manufacturing Systems”. Makoto Iwasaki, IEEE Fellow and Professor of Nagoya Institute of Technology, made a presentation entitled “Fast and Accurate Positioning Initial Compensation of Industrial Positioning Equipment Based on Rolling Friction Modeling”. Prof. Ju Bingfeng, National Distinguished Young Scholar and Professor of Zhejiang University, made a presentation entitled “Measurement Technology for High Performance Manufacturing Processes”. Prof. Yin Guodong, National Distinguished Young Scholar and Professor of Southeast University, gave a presentation entitled “Research on Intelligent Chassis Design Methods and Active Safety Control for Electrified Vehicles”. Prof. Liu Zhifeng, Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education’s Major Talent Project from Jilin University, gave a presentation entitled “Overview and Innovative Development of High-end CNC Machine Tools”. The session was chaired by Prof. Wang Zhongbin, Prof. Ni Zhonghua from Southeast University, and Prof. Zhang Zhongqiang from Jiangsu University.
On the afternoon of October 19 and the morning of October 20, three parallel sessions were held and posters were exhibited. All events were live broadcast online. Experts, scholars and graduates from more than 30 universities, institutions and enterprises, including Dalian University of Technology, Jilin University, National University of Defense Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Xidian University, Wuhan University of Technology, Yanshan University, Fuzhou University, Chang’an University, Beijing Institute of Satellite Environmental Engineering, Shanghai Aircraft Design & Research Institute, National Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology, China Coal Technology & Engineering Group, Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd, and XCMG Construction Machinery, engaged in exchanges and shared their research progress in the field of mechanical engineering and automation science.
Since 2015, the International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Automation Science has successfully held ten sessions, attracting experts and scholars from all over the world. The 10th session of the Conference continues to be at the forefront of international academia, covering the latest research results and technological advances in the field of mechanical engineering and automation science. It provides a solid platform for scientific exchange among participants, promotes the convergence of ideas and innovations, and strongly supports the development of new productive forces and technological innovation.
