Bian Zhengfu, CUMT Vice President, delivered a speech

On October 31, the 2025 Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance Annual Meeting was held at the University of Macau. University leaders and heads of relevant departments from 35 universities in Jiangsu, Hong Kong, and Macau gathered to discuss the alliance's development under the theme "University Alliance Gathers Strength, Open Sharing Promotes Mutual Win." Vice President Bian Zhengfu of CUMT was invited to attend the alliance annual meeting activities on behalf of the university.

At the opening ceremony, Jiang Yong, Director of the Jiangsu Education Department, and Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, delivered video speeches. Leong Siu Hong, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government, attended the event and delivered a speech. Song Yonghua, Rector of the University of Macau, a founding vice-chair institution of the alliance, delivered a welcome address. He stated that the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance, established in response to the urgent needs of universities in the three regions, has developed into an important platform promoting collaboration in science, education, research, and industry. He looked forward to deepened cooperation between the universities in cultural inheritance, talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, and social services to achieve complementary advantages and common development.

During the Presidents' Forum, Bian Zhengfu delivered an exchange speech on the topic "Resource Integration and Sharing, Synergy for New Prospects." He introduced the university's development history, disciplinary strengths, and the cooperation carried out with universities in Hong Kong and Macau in the fields of energy and environment by CUMT. He suggested that universities collaboratively enhance the quality of talent cultivation by establishing cross-institutional mechanisms for course selection and credit recognition, implement the open sharing of scientific and technological resources in universities, empower scientific research through cooperation, strengthen the construction of technology transfer centers and achievement transformation platforms, and enhance the alliance's social service capability, thereby contributing the strength of the university alliance to the building of a strong education system, a strong science and technology system, and a strong talent force.

The Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance was established in 2021, jointly initiated by Nanjing University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Macau, and Nanjing Normal University. It now has 45 member universities from the three regions. The alliance aims to promote scientific research innovation, explore new talent cultivation mechanisms, advance the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and promote excellent traditional culture in the three regions.
