Recently, the "Technical Training on Sustainable Development of Coal Mining and Environmental Protection in Mining Areas in Developing Countries", hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by CUMT, successfully kicked off. Vice President Bian Zhengfu attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. A total of 20 participants from nine developing countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Nigeria, Guinea, Pakistan, Costa Rica, Mongolia, Cameroon, and Burkina Faso, took part in the training.

On behalf of the university, Bian Zhengfu extended a warm welcome to all the guests and participants. He pointed out in his speech that the world is currently facing the dual challenges of energy security and climate change. The university is willing to take this training as an opportunity to share its technological achievements and practical experience in intelligent mining and green mine construction with other developing countries, and jointly explore a sustainable development path that coordinates resource development and ecological protection.

During the special seminar session, experts conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as "space mining", "gas disaster control under the carbon neutrality goal", "co-mining of coal and water in ecologically fragile mining areas in western China", and "mineral resources and geological exploration technology". The training course awarded "Distinguished Lecturer" certificates to the experts who delivered keynote reports.

This training course was co-organized by more than 30 departments, including the International Office, the Office of External Cooperation and Development, the Academy of Science and Technology, the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics, and the State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering.
