On June 17, Clarivate Analytics officially released the latest annual Journal Citation Reports (JCR), which are closely watched by the global research community. The report shows that the International Journal of Mining Science and Technology (IJMST), sponsored by China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), has achieved an Impact Factor of 15.9, surpassing 15.0 for the first time and setting a new record in its field. Among SCI-indexed journals in the Mining & Mineral Processing category, IJMST retains its position as the world’s top-ranked journal in its field.
Since its inclusion in the SCI database in 2020, IJMST’s Impact Factor has risen steadily, from its initial 3.903 to this year’s 15.9, making it the first mining engineering journal globally to exceed 15.0 in its category — a clear testament to the global academic influence of CUMT’s traditionally strong disciplines.
Earlier, Elsevier released the 2025 CiteScore metrics, in which IJMST scored 24.5 — another new high, marking the fourth consecutive year that the journal ranks #1 globally in both the Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology ,Geochemistry and Petrology categories.
IJMST consistently adheres to a “four-pronged” strategic orientation, providing a high-level academic exchange platform for science and technology professionals and delivering high-quality academic journal services. At present, IJMST has become one of the most influential mining science and technology journals worldwide, further enhancing CUMT’s leadership and standing in the international academic communities of mining, safety, geology, surveying and mapping and related fields.
