CUMT hosted the 2023 Forum on Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, the Third Smart Energy Academic Forum, and the 2023 Annual Conference of Jiangsu Smart Energy Technology and Equipment Engineering Research Center on December 17 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Zhou Huaichun, Dean of School of Low-Carbon Energy and Power Engineering. Vice President Zhang Jixiong attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
In Vice President Zhang Jixiong’s speech, he extended a warm welcome to participating guests on behalf of CUMT and briefly introduced its history and current development. He pointed out that CUMT has always kept in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirements of “continuing to pursue the high-quality development of coal industry”. Based on the four aspects we are facing and with a clear understanding of matters of national significance, we have developed a strong sense of responsibility and mission and we are committed to the transformation and upgrading and green and low-carbon development of coal industry. He also said that this forum is of great significance for the development of power engineering and engineering thermophysics disciplines and for the talent cultivation at CUMT. He hoped that experts and scholars will join hands with CUMT to make greater contributions to green and low-carbon transformation of energy and high-quality development.
14 experts gave key-note presentations to share latest research achievements in related fields with participants. Key-note speakers were Prof. Shen Jiong from Southeast University, Prof. Ren Yuxin from Tsinghua University, Prof. Liu Ronghou from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Zhang Zhengguo from South China University of Technology, Prof. Zhao Yijun from Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Zhou Yuegui from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Liu Haifeng from Tianjin University, Prof. Li Wenming from Southeast University, Prof. Feng Dongdong from Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Niu Yanqing from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Prof. Xia Xi from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Associate Prof. Wei Lei from Southern University of Science and Technology, Associate Prof. Xie Luo from Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Prof. Zhou Huaichun from China University of Mining and Technology. At the parallel forums, 8 young teachers gave presentations around their research fields and received comments and feedback from experts.
Over 200 people, including 14 university experts and their research team members, as well as teachers and graduate students from School of Low-Carbon Energy and Power Engineering, attended the forum.
