On April 27, 2015, Prof. Ge Shirong, President of CUMT, met with Katina Micheal, Vice dean of the School of Engineering and Information Science of the University of Wollongong(UW) and his delegation, who were invited to attend the 7th International Conference on Mining Science and Technology. The deans and directors of the School of Mines, School of Safety Engineering, National Engineering Research Center for Coal Mine Gas Control, and the International Office attended the meeting.

President Ge welcomed the guests and briefly introduced CUMT’s situation regarding discipline construction, faculty, and international development goals. Vice dean Katina Michael recalled the partnership between CUMT and UW, and expressed his ideas on further strengthening exchanges and promoting more cooperation projects between two universities.

The two sides reached consensus on issues such as  establishing a research platform for green mining, co-sponsoring conferences, and implementing exchange programs for young scholars.
