The International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment held its council meeting in CUMT

On April 27, 2015, the International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment held its council meeting in CUMT. Representatives from seven member universities attended the meeting, including the University of Kentucky, West Virginia University, the University of Queensland, the University of Western Australia, Technischen Hochschule Georg Agricola zu Bochum, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and CUMT. The University of Nottingham(UK), Mehran University of Engineering and Technology(Pakistan) were invited to attend the meeting.
Prof. Ge Shirong, Chairman of the Alliance’s council and President of CUMT, expressed in his speech that as an intercollegiate organization, the Alliance plays an active role in facilitating the exchanges and cooperation between CUMT and the Alliance’s member universities. He hoped the member universities will fully use this platform to deepen cooperation and promote common development. The meeting elected Prof. G. T. Lineberry as the new chairman of the Alliance’s council, Mr. Zhang Zhenkang as the Secretary general. The council meeting agreed the University of Wollongong joining the Alliance, and achieved consensus on the Alliance’s future development and its action plan.
