On September 29, 2010, Prof. G. T. Lineberry, vice-dean of School of Mining Engineering of the University of Kentucky, visited CUMT.

During the visit, Prof. G. T. Lineberry interviewed 12 candidate students in CUMT-UK “2+2” joint undergraduate program and discussed with CUMT International Office on mutual credit recognition, and flexible enrollment of UK teaching staff by CUMT. Through discussion, both sides agreed to implement student exchange program under the framework of the International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment. In addition, UK agreed to send 20 students in mining engineering to CUMT for internship in June 2011.
