Entrusted by Prof. Robert A. Wharton, president of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology(SD Mines), Dr. Hong Haiping visited CUMT and discussed educational and research cooperation with CUMT International Office on January 14, 2011.

On the meeting, both sides reached positive consensus, including assisting SD Mines to establish a lab at Homestake Mine, SD Mines joining the International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment, implementing “2+2” joint undergraduate programs in the areas of mining engineering, geology, new energy, environment and nano materials, and carrying out joint research in material science and tribology.
