On November 27th, 2016 International Symposium on Mine Rock Burst was held at the University of Wollongong(Australia), organized by CUMT.

This Symposium was jointly sponsored by the University of Wollongong, the State Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safety Mining of CUMT, New South Wales Government, the School of Mines of CUMT, China Australia Mining Development Alliance, and International Journal of Mining Science and Technology. More than 50 experts and scholars of universities, research institutes, companies and enterprises from China, Australia, Czech Republic and other countries attended the symposium.

In the four units of academic reports and seminars, a total of 15 conference delegates made the academic reports. These involved the fields of the law of rock burst accidents in China and Australia, the technology and theory of rock burst in China and Australia, the new progress of rock bursting mechanism and so on. These academic reports fully demonstrated the academic frontier and the latest development of the current rock burst research. The participants had a heated discussion and extensive academic exchanges, which promoted the international exchange and cooperation on the study of rock bursting.
